I've just read snippets, why? The gnostic gospels were all written much later than the canonised gospels, way after the death of the apostles, that's the main reason they were rejected. And when you read the gnostic gospels you can see quickly that they are mostly chimerical and imcomprehensible nonsense, in quite a different class from the canonised gospels.

Jealous Murderous OT Yahweh Jehovah really is Satan?
by Shanagirl ini would love to start a discussion (not a debate) with others that follow the gnostic writings from the nag hammadi library.
i am a believer that pretty much every belief has some truths and fallacies.
some say its a game of 'only taking what you like out of something'.....i say, its using discernment to find the 'pure nature' of what god would be and is.

Are you serious? An interesting hodgepodge theory you have but hardly a reliable guide to reality and truth is a bunch of ancient, superstitious, contradictory, unscientific scriptures and gnostic gospels.

Atheism and Theism are only partly right!
by abiather intoday we know that matter and energy are interchangeable, hence they are there always in either form, they are eternal, hence requires no creator.
hence atheism is right in rejecting a creator, but failed in providing any motivation for people to do good.
religions, in their effort to provide a motivating factor for humans to do good, introduced creation stories and other myths; hence they too are right (as far as their intention is concerned), yet failed in producing any worthy resultsworld was steadily moving from bad to worse and from worse to worst!.

Err, yeah, I'm familiar with Einstein's famous formula. But E=MC2, or any derivation thereof, hardly proves light and matter have always existed. Science simply doesn't know why there is something instead of nothing. Religion says "God'" and science just shrugs it's shoulders and says "we havn't worked it out yet."

Could i possily be one of the sealed?
by msconcerned ini went to the meeting last night, (with the start of a beard) and going throught he book study i had a thought.
god our "heavenly father" wants us to have a personal relationship with him because he is love.
well my brain disconnected from this thinking because if the bible was "written primarily for the anointed" and the benefits in the bible can only be mine because of "association" with the anointed, then i can never have a personal relationship with god or jesus.

Scripturally there is simply no such thing as a true Christian who is not 'anointed', born-again. You know this.
But two thousand years later Judge Rutherford announced that a whole new class of non-anointed Christians that never existed in the first century had appeared in 1935.
Were there 'observers' at the memorial in the first century congregations? Who was commanded to partake of the emblems, per Paul's instructions in Corinthians - a tiny few or all members of the congregation?
It's simple: who are you going to believe - Jesus and all the apostles or Joseph Rutherford?

Regarding the permission of certain blood fractions, what is the biblical basis?
by I_love_Jeff inwith regard to the permission of certain blood fractions, what biblical basis is the watchtower's selection of approved and non-approved components or fractions made?.
two key words here: biblical basis.
one answer by a jw caught my attention: .

The fractions are extracted from DONATED BLOOD!
Knock-down argument, case closed. Watchtower indicted for their criminal blood policy.

I used to sometimes just put lines randomly and as quickly as possible through the Watchtower study article while not even reading it just before I walked out the door to go to the meeting. Took about 5 minutes, hehehe.

Why a Faithful and discreet slave???
by Crazyguy inthe bible speaks of it making a man fully equipt 2tim, and that the anointing teaches one 1john, holy spirit is also available luke, john and even god will grant wisdom if one asks james.
so why the need for a faithful and discreet slave, in the bible???
?.

Because someone in the congregation has to teach others in the congregation. The faithful and discreet slaves are merely anyone that teaches the other slaves, ie, anyone Christian who teaches other Christians, as opposed to teaching non-Christians to convert them.
